JENNIFER MARINO of Methuen, MA, Chemistry Teacher and Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach.
Jennifer Marino enters her seventh season as the head girls' varsity soccer coach at Worcester Academy. Under her leadership the past 6 seasons, she has led the team to two NEPSAC Class A championship game appearances (2015 and 2016), a semi-final appearance (2018) and two quarter-final appearances (2013 and 2017). Marino has shown she can sustain success over her seasons at Worcester.
In 2016, the varsity program finished 18-1-1, setting program records for wins and goals scored in a season. The team also finished 2nd in Top Drawer Soccer's national prep school rankings that year.
Marino has sent 23 players to play college soccer across all NCAA divisions. Marino currently holds a National Diploma, Advanced National Diploma, and Premier Diploma from the NSCAA (now called the United Soccer Coaches). In the spring, Marino has served as an assistant track and field coach at Worcester Academy. Outside of Worcester Academy, Marino coaches for the New England Football Club (NEFC) as a staff coach in the central region.
Off the field, Marino teaches chemistry (both honors and regular chemistry and organic chemistry) and is an advisor to 6-8 students. She is also a dorm parent in Stoddard Hall, a 9th/10thgrade girls’ dormitory.
Marino received her B.S. in Chemistry from Bates College (2009) and a M.A. in Chemistry from Bucknell University (2015). As a student-athlete at Bates, Marino played four years of varsity soccer and indoor and outdoor track and field. She was a part of the 2005 NESCAC Championship women's soccer team, the first and only NESCAC championship in program history, and was a national qualifier and Bates record holder in the long jump, triple jump, and 4x400 meter relay.
Prior to her time at Worcester Academy, Marino taught science at Deerfield Academy (2010-13), where she was also the assistant varsity soccer coach. Additionally, Marino was a chemistry teaching fellow at Phillips Academy Andover (2009-10) and the assistant varsity soccer coach.
