Worcester Tops MacDuffie At Home
Worcester Academy defeated league opponent MacDuffie School, 70-63, on Rowe Court on Wednesday night.
Early 3-pointers by senior guard Dan Becil (New York, NY) & junior guard Kayvaun Mulready (Worcester, MA) keyed the Hilltoppers early. MacDuffie took the lead halfway through, but WA tied the game late and went into halftime knotted at 32.
More long-distance shooting paced WA in the second half, including one on the opening possession by junior guard Tre Norman (Boston, MA). WA lead for most of the half and closed out a 70-63 league win.
The bench brought a great spark on both ends of the floor tonight. Post-graduate guard Jake Shapiro (Los Angeles, CA), junior guard Zach Harvey-Seutcheu (Geneva, SWI) & junior forward Todd Brogna (Southborough, MA) carried WA late in the first half to keep them in the game.
Mulready lead WA in scoring with 15 points, while Becil & Norman each had 14. Junior wing TJ Power (Shrewsbury, MA) finished with 11 points.
WA moves to 11-4 overall, including 7-2 in NEPSAC Class AA.
