Wilbraham Tops WA
Visiting NEPSAC Class AA rival Wilbraham & Monson defeated the hosting Worcester Academy Hilltoppers on Wednesday afternoon, 81-65.
Wilbraham lead wire-to-wire with strong play from Duke-commit Kyle Filipowski, who finished with a game-high 28 points.
WA crawled back into the game with timely baskets from junior wing TJ Power (Shrewsbury, MA) and junior guard Kayvaun Mulready (Worcester, MA). But a cold-stretch from the field limited the Hilltoppers offensive options, and they dropped a league contest, 81-65.
Junior guard Tre Norman (Boston, MA) lead WA with 19 points. Mulready scored 18 points, and post-grad guard Jake Shapiro (Los Angeles, CA) scored a career-high 10 points.
WA falls to 9-4 overall and 6-2 in NEPSAC Class AA. The Hilltoppers return to Rowe Court on Friday night at 6pm to host Phillips Academy Andover.
