WA Opens 2022 w/ A Road Win

Worcester traveled to longtime NEPSAC Class AA opponent Proctor Academy on Wednesday afternoon.  The Hilltoppers headed back to Providence St. with a wire-to-wire win.

Strong offensive rebounding by junior wing Todd Brogna (Southborough, MA) and timely outside shooting by Brogna and senior guard Dan Cecil (New York, NY) kept WA afloat in the first half.  Strong defense limited Proctor's opportunities, and WA went into the locker room with a 31-20 lead.  Brogna lead all scorers with 14 first-half points.  Becil scored 11, while senior big man Abdullah Mahamed (Foxborough, MA) netted 7 points.

Junior guard Tre Norman (Boston, MA) lead a second-half charge as he scored at will at the rim.  Norman finished with 18 points, while Becil finished with 17 and Brogan finished with 14.

Worcester moves to 7-3 overall, and 6-1 in the league.
