WA Moves To 4-0 In NEPSAC Class AA
Worcester Academy defeated visiting Class AA rival Lawrence Academy, 66-52, on Rowe Court on Wednesday night.
The Hilltoppers got off to a quick start thanks to two early 3-pointers by senior guard Dan Becil (New York, NY). A 9-0 early lead slowly shrunk to a 2-point lead over the half, but the Hilltoppers entered halftime with a 32-27 lead. Becil lead the way with 12 first-half points.
WA slowly extended their lead throughout the half with some timely forced turnovers and fast break baskets by junior guard Tre Norman. Junior forward TJ Power (Shrewsbury, MA) hit two 3-pointers in the second half to pace WA, as well, as they cruised to a 66-52 victory.
Norman lead WA with 23 points. Becil added 20, and Power scored 8 points.
Worcester moves to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in NEPSAC Class AA. The Hilltoppers will close out the 2021 calendar year with two league games this weekend at the Basketbull Hoops Fest at the South End Community Center in Springfield, MA. We will play Bradford Christian Academy on Friday at 5:45pm and Darrow School at 3:45pm on Saturday.
