WA 1 Choate 0

Continuing to play one of the toughest schedules in all of New England, the Hilltoppers traveled to Wallingford, Connecticut to take on another Class A rival, the Choate Rosemary Hall School. Choate had the early run of play, and threatened the Hilltopper back line, but were held at bay. Then, in the 23rd minute, Haley Fenlon won the ball deep in the Worcester end and sent the clear to Lily LaGrassa, who took it to the other end, ultimately winning a corner kick. Shelby Khoury sent a short corner to a charging Kelli Buckley, who chipped the ball to the far post, where Liz Finn headed it in over the sliding keeper for the 1-0 lead. The Hilltoppers then controlled much of the play, but could not increase their lead. Choate would throw everything they had at Worcester in the final minutes, but they could not find the equalizer. Keeper Sam Scott made 4 saves on the way to the shutout, including two late in the game on breakaways.
