Our Hilltop vantage point allows us to see things a little differently than most independent schools. Our program is a balance and blend of tradition and innovation in a warm, inclusive and supportive atmosphere. We meet our students where
they are, teach them to understand who
they are, and, most importantly, inspire them to what
they can contribute. To be sure, we offer a college-prep curriculum in both the Middle School and Upper school (high school) centered on academic achievement and personal empowerment, but we move beyond the ordinary with:
- A Strong Values-Driven Base
Our core values of Honor, Respect, Community, Personal Growth and Challenge drive our mission and commitment to education. Our students excel academically because they know that those essential skills of a strong work ethic and a sense of purpose will buoy their success in college and beyond.
- Academic Rigor and a Knack for Innovation
We never rest on our laurels! Small class sizes at all levels keep our kids engaged, allowing for deeper learning and individualized attention. Renowned for our strong high school mathematics curriculum and an exceptional science program which focuses on providing hands-on opportunities, including Engineering and independent study opportunities. Your child can explore varied academic interests to prepare them for college success.
- Empowered Teachers
Our teachers have the leeway to be imaginative designers of real learning experiences. WA faculty members encourage students to drive their own learning through inquiry and questioning. Students apply their knowledge in real world situations and extend their learning beyond the classroom.
- Student Self-Discovery through Exploration and Opportunities
Our educational playground is Worcester’s museums, research facilities, and universities. Opportunities include a top-ranked Math Team, travel abroad service trips, student-leadership, clubs offered during the school day so Middle School and Upper School students can still participate in Athletics and/or Arts, 17 interscholastic sports fielding 50 athletic teams and an exemplary Performing Arts program with events each term.
- Diversity and Inclusivity
We thrive on our multiple perspectives with a residential boarding student body that currently hails from over 20 different nations. Our diversity includes students from all economic backgrounds. We encourage you to explore the many ways that we can bring the cost of a Worcester Academy education within your reach.
- Attention to Details
Can’t get here from there? Our morning buses from various Metro West communities and our shuttles to/from Worcester’s Union Station make WA work for busy families!
