Blackburn Given Souders Award

Former Worcester Academy Director of Athletics Thomas Blackburn will receive the prestigious Martin William Souders Memorial Award at the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council's fall meeting, Nov.18.

Established in 1967, the Martin William Souders Memorial Award is presented annually to an independent school graduate (Tom Blackburn attended Deerfield), who has distinguished himself in sports and who has since demonstrated high ideals, leadership, and accomplishments professionally.

The award recognizes Tom’s contributions to advancing athletics and physical education in New England independent schools.
Donald “Dee” Rowe ’47, the only Worcester Academy alum to receive this award (1989), will present Coach Blackburn at the luncheon.
