  • Middle School Spring Sports
    • Middle School athletics will begin after March Break, with the spring season starting on March 23. This spring, Middlers will have the opportunity to participate in track & field, baseball, softball, and tennis. We look forward to seeing many of our Middle School students enjoying the warmer weather and competing together this spring.
  • Middle School Adventure Week
    • 6th grade– one-night trip to the YMCA camp in Sandwich, MA on April 23-24
    • 7th grade– two-night trip to Nature’s Classroom in Ocean Park, ME on April 22-24. 
    • 8th grade– three-night trip to Cathleen Stone Island off the coast of Boston on April 21-24.
    • These trips are an important part of our Middle School advisory curriculum, and attendance is expected.

    Summer can be a wonderful time for students to explore academic and career interests beyond the classroom. Many colleges and universities offer programs designed for high school students, providing a glimpse into campus life while allowing participants to dive deeper into subjects they’re passionate about. These programs vary widely in scope and cost and are by no means required, but for students who are curious, eager to meet like-minded peers, or interested in building new experiences, they can be a meaningful option.

    The College Counseling Office regularly receives information about these opportunities and has compiled a working list of programs here. The list will continue to be updated as new invitations arrive, and it also includes a tab featuring a broader national directory of summer resources.

  • Prom 2026
    Prom will be held on April 19 at the AC Marriott hotel in Worcester. Students can find the RSVP form here. This year, tickets for Prom will cost $90.00 and can be paid on RevTrak at this link: Prom Ticket Payment, or by cash or check at the Business Office in Walker Hall. You can pay for a friend or guest who is a Worcester Academy or a non-Worcester Academy student. If you need financial assistance to buy a ticket, please email Dr. Kuiper, Mrs. Thompson, or Mr. Snyder. All RSVPs and Payments are due by Friday, March 27, at 11:59 PM.

    Students interested in auditioning for the Spring Play should keep an eye on their email next week for an audition form. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 24. Students should complete the form once it is shared and reach out with any questions.

  • Class of 2027
    • School Day SAT
      Worcester Academy will offer an official School Day SAT for members of the Class of 2027 on Monday, April 13, at 8:00 AM. Students who register and participate will be excused from classes for the day. This SAT is available only to Worcester Academy Class of 2027 students and will not appear on the College Board website.

      To register, follow this two-step process: 

      1. Complete this Google Form. The student must register with his/her WA Gmail account.
      2. Make payment ($60) through RevTrak. The registration and payment deadline is March 25.
      International students, if you have an international credit card, you will need to see Mrs. Savage in the business office in person to process your payment.

    • Interested in the United States Coast Guard Academy?

      For students who are academically strong, physically fit, and motivated to lead with purpose, the United States Coast Guard Academy offers a unique pathway grounded in service, scholarship, and leadership. Students with interests in math, science, and engineering, and a desire to make a meaningful difference, may want to explore the Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) program.

      AIM is a selective, six-day summer immersion experience that offers prospective cadets a firsthand look at life at the Academy. Participants engage in hands-on engineering challenges, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and experience the rigor and camaraderie of a service academy environment. Applications that require a counselor recommendation are due April 1. Families can find additional details, including application guidance, student blogs,  and FAQs, on the AIM website.

  • Spring Sports Health Reminder

    As we prepare for the spring sports athletic season, please make sure your student has a current health form and physical on file with Magnus Health.

    Worcester Academy requires updated health forms for all students each year. Physical exams are valid for 1 year from the date of the exam, so please check your student’s exam date to ensure it will remain current through the start of the spring season.

    Students will not be permitted to try out, practice, or participate in a spring sport until all required forms are submitted and up to date in Magnus Health.

    Please schedule physicals early and upload all documents to Magnus Health to avoid any interruption in participation. If you have any questions, please contact the health office.

Yearbook News
  • Order a Yearbook
    • Worcester Academy yearbooks are now available to order at www.yearbookforever.com.
      • The cost of yearbooks is $90.
      • $10 shipping and a $3.99 processing fee are automatically applied to each order.
      • Yearbooks will be shipped directly to your chosen address and are expected to arrive between early and mid-August, after production begins in July.
      • The final order deadline is June 5, 2026.
  • Yearbook Tribute Ads
    • If you would like to create a tribute ad for a member of the Class of 2026, visit www.yearbookforever.com, search for Worcester Academy, and click Get Started. The site will guide you through uploading photos and designing your ad.

  • Theater 7 Improv Showcase

    During one of their final class meetings of the year, Theater 7 will present an improv performance showcasing the games we have been working on throughout our trimester together. Families are welcome to attend. The performance will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 8:10-9:10 AM in Rader Hall, room 27. Or if you wish to watch online, the Zoom link is available here.

    The New Balance School Store is now open and will close at midnight (EST) on March 1. This latest collection includes new styles and expanded Worcester Academy Athletics options for students, families, and fans. To access the store, click the Team Site link and complete the Terms of Agreement, then create or log in to your New Balance Team Sports account (there is no universal login). Once logged in, select the profile avatar in the top right corner, choose My Locker, and access the Team Store link on the right-hand pane. Enter the password WA26 to begin shopping.   • New England Sports Summit
    Last Friday, nine Upper School students had the opportunity to attend the New England Sports Summit, which brought together top sports executives from the region's most recognized sports organizations to discuss the latest trends, innovations, and career opportunities in sports management. The day started with a networking program, where students learned the ins and outs of professional networking, and then went to panel discussions with speakers from many professional and collegiate sports teams on sports management, the business of sports, and more.

  • Much Ado About Nothing Cast Field Trip

    Members of Worcester Academy’s cast of Much Ado About Nothing recently attended a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Hanover Theatre. Experiencing a professional production offered students valuable insight into staging, character interpretation, and the many creative choices that bring Shakespeare’s comedy to life. Our cast returned to campus energized and ready to share their own imaginative take on this timeless play.

College Counseling News
  • Class of 2026

    Seniors are encouraged to explore scholarship opportunities through the Greater Worcester Community Foundation (GWCF) at www.greaterworcester.org. As the largest scholarship provider in Worcester County, GWCF offers more than 140 unique awards to graduating seniors from the 60 cities and towns across the region. Students complete one application and are automatically considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The application deadline is February 25 and requires submission of a transcript and one letter of recommendation. The College Counseling Office can provide both documents, but students should notify their counselor as soon as possible if they plan to apply. Families are also encouraged to watch for additional scholarship opportunities shared by the College Counseling Office throughout the spring.

    • Summer Leaders Experience

      For students interested in leadership, service, and academic challenge, the United States Military Academy at West Point offers the Summer Leaders Experience (SLE), a five-day residential program designed for rising seniors (current juniors). Led by current cadets, SLE provides an immersive introduction to life at West Point.

      Participants engage in hands-on academic workshops taught by faculty, physical and military training exercises, and leadership development activities that emphasize teamwork, character, and resilience. The program offers students a meaningful opportunity to explore whether a service academy is the right fit. Check out the SLE 2025 VIDEO to learn more about the experience.

      Applications open February 15, with selections made on a rolling basis beginning March 15. Students who apply to SLE also complete the first portion of the West Point application process. Financial assistance is available for students with demonstrated need.
