- AI and Social Good Summer Research
For any WA student interested in engaging with instructors from top-tier universities on AI and research, Inspirit AI guides students in grades 6–12 to understand how to apply AI to research in disease prevention, humanitarian aid, and climate reform. AI Scholars Live is an AI bootcamp that exposes high school students to fundamental AI concepts and guides them to build a socially impactful project. Taught by our team of graduate students from Stanford, MIT, and more, students receive a personalized learning experience in small groups with a student-teacher ratio of 5:1. Students submit their research to academic journals and science competitions like ISEF. Applications are due April 30.

Several students were recognized by their committee chairs for their exceptional work: Isabella Lyons, representing Japan in the International Maritime Organization, received Best Position Paper; Madelyn Newton, representing the United States in the International Labor Organization, earned Best Position Paper; and Leah Taylor, representing Japan in the International Labor Organization, was named Best Negotiator. We’ll also be hosting a webinar about studying in Ireland ahead of the fairs on Tuesday, April 14th, from 1-2 PM, alongside colleagues Maggie Cardosi (University College Cork), Jim Pierson (University College Dublin), and Isabella Salem (Ulster University). More information and registration can be found here.
- Summer Opportunities
Summer can be a wonderful time for students to explore academic and career interests beyond the classroom. Many colleges and universities offer programs designed for high school students, providing a glimpse into campus life while allowing participants to dive deeper into subjects they’re passionate about. These programs vary widely in scope and cost and are by no means required, but for students who are curious, eager to meet like-minded peers, or interested in building new experiences, they can be a meaningful option.
The College Counseling Office regularly receives information about these opportunities and has compiled a working list of programs here. The list will continue to be updated as new invitations arrive, and it also includes a tab featuring a broader national directory of summer resources.

- End of Year Information for Class of 2026
As we jump into the end-of-year activities and celebrations for the Class of 2026, we wanted to outline some of the major upcoming events.
- Campus Leave Privileges - Starting April 21, 2026
Each Spring, our student leaders work with the administration to develop privileges for the graduating class. This year, the class voted, and the consensus was for the graduating class to be able to leave campus during the academic day when they do not have a commitment. Parents and/or guardians who wish to allow their students to be able to leave campus during the academic day must fill out this form, which can be submitted as a Google form or delivered as a hard copy to the Upper School Office in Kingsley. Campus leave privileges will begin on April 21, 2026, and all forms are due by Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Day students will be required to submit a Google form each time they plan on leaving campus (which they will receive via email), and boarding students must submit a REACH request so that the Upper School Office and Security can account for each student for safety purposes.
- Prom Information - Sunday, April 19, 2026
We are thrilled to host this year's Prom at the AC Hotel by Marriott, Worcester—a beautiful venue to help us kick off the spring season! As always, our priority is providing a fun, safe, and positive experience for every student. The evening will include a full buffet meal and run from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on April 19. Please note that student registration will take place from 6:00–6:30 PM, and departures will begin at 9:30 PM.
- Annual Senior Skip Day - Tuesday, April 21, 2026
After Prom, we have our annual skip day for members of the graduating class. These absences will be excused and not count toward your child’s attendance. For your student to participate in Skip Day and in lieu of a phone call to the Upper School Office that day, we ask that parents/guardians of any senior or postgraduate (day or boarding) complete this form by Thursday, April 16, so that we know who will be absent from classes on Tuesday, April 21. If you are a boarding student family and are unable to complete the Google Form, please e-mail Mr. Johnson, giving your child permission to miss school that day.
- Senior Celebration Day - Friday, May 1, 2026
On Friday afternoon, we will celebrate the future plans of our seniors and postgraduates. Members of the Class of 2026 are encouraged to wear apparel, swag, or colors that represent their intended path for next year. After lunch, we will celebrate with a sweet treat, lawn games, and music. More specific details will be shared with students as the date approaches.
- Discovery Project Expo - Tuesday, May 19 & Thursday, May 21, 2026
The Class of 2026 will present their Discovery Projects on Tuesday, May 19, and Thursday, May 21, from 2:15-3:30 PM. The graduating class will be split between the days, and we will share the roster for each day next month. We’re grateful to Jamie Sullivan, Debbie Davis, and Brian Kondek for their leadership and guidance during this process, as well as the students' advisors and mentors who helped make these projects such a success.
Discovery Projects are a unique opportunity for Seniors and PGs to embark on a journey of self-discovery and exploration before they graduate from Worcester Academy. These projects, some of which have been in the making for years and others that were initiated this school year, will be presented in an expo or fair-style presentation where students will share their projects with the community. Whether you are able to join us or not, we thank you for supporting this important part of your student's Worcester Academy experience.
- Spree Day - Wednesday, May 27, 2026
Spree Day will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Serving as the last day of classes for the graduating class, we will have a modified class schedule, tons of fun games, inflatables, slip ‘n slides, food, and more on the Quad following the annual school Assembly on Rowe Court.
- Senior Night Awards and Reception - Thursday, June 4, 2026
The annual Senior Night Awards and Reception will take place in Warner Theater at 6:30 PM. More details will follow in the coming weeks.
- Class of 2026 Graduation - Friday, June 5, 2026
The commencement ceremony will take place on the Quad starting promptly at 11:00 AM. The Class of 2026 is expected to arrive on campus at 9:30 AM for attendance, class photo, and lineup. In the event of inclement weather, we will hold the ceremony indoors in the Capozzoli Athletic Center, with admittance by ticket only. Additional graduation details will be coming later this spring.
