Weekly Athletic Update

As we wind down the final week of the regular season, we salute all of our senior student-athletes who will be honored during their final home contests.

  • On Saturday, our Swim Team honored their senior contingent just prior to the meet against Williston Northampton. The visitors from Western Mass were deep and talented but it didn’t prevent our team from rallying around their seniors and giving them a proper send off. Our Boy’s Ice Hockey team played their season finale on Sunday afternoon and 11 seniors were recognized prior to the contest with Hoosac. After surrendering a pair of 1st period goals, the team rallied and came away with a satisfying 7-5 victory which will get the team in a good frame of mind as they prepare for a 1st round Holt Conference play this Wednesday when they travel to Berwick Academy. Game time at the Dover Ice Rink is 4:15 pm.

  • Ryan Sullivan ’25 and Cam Hailey ’26 had big games during the week as the Boys’ Basketball team won 2 critical contests in their pursuit of a home court contest in 1st round Class AA play. On Wednesday, the team avenged a loss two weeks prior to the St. Andrew’s School with a nifty 85-78 victory as Sullivan and Hailey paved the way. Friday evening’s road conquest at Tilton was a testament to solid play on the defensive end and shot making throughout the contest from Cam Hailey and early on from sharpshooter Jake Blackburn ’24.

  • Girls’ Ice Hockey saluted their Class of ’24 skaters on Saturday afternoon at the WIC and fell to Phillips Andover in a tough 5-2 contest. WA grabbed a home seed in the 1st year of the Vailancourt League and will host NMH on Wednesday at the WIC, 4:00 pm face off.

  • Girls’ Varsity Basketball continues to roll as it pushed past the St. Andrew’s School on Wednesday (59-43) and then hung on against New Hampton on Saturday with a close 62-58 win over the Husky’s. It was the 4thconsecutive win and 7th in the last 8 games pushing their overall mark to 16-5 as they too push for a home court edge in the upcoming Class AA tournament.

  • Congratulations to the Ski Team for competing successfully in the recent Class C NEPSAC event at Berkshire East Mountain and in particular to our Girls’ team who finished 3rd overall in the recently completed CMSL season.

  • 3rds Basketball ran off their 11th consecutive win in a road triumph in Rhode Island against the St. Andrew’s School. Double-digit scorers included Jaden Aytek (20 and a career high), Lucas Stockenberg (16) and Wes Stromme (13) in the impressive 60-49 win.

  • V2 Basketball is starting to jell and travelled to Marianapolis Prep on Wednesday looking for a season sweep against the Golden Knights. Aekem Singh (17 points), Kyle Kevaney (14 points, 10 rebounds), and Aadarsh Yalamanchili (12) led the way for the V2 team.

  • The JV Girls’ Basketball team concluded their season with a spirited effort against Marianapolis Prep on Saturday afternoon on Rowe Court and we thank the team and coaches for a good season.
