Dear WA Parents, Alumni, Trustees and Friends,
The Worcester Academy Parent Auction and Gala is always an inspiring and beautiful community-building event. Thank you for coming together to honor our teachers and to support ongoing professional learning in service of our children.
We know that Worcester Academy has great teachers, and we know that great teachers create a transformative educational experience for our children. Demonstrating your appreciation tonight affirms and celebrates this truth and fortifies the investment you have made in the education of your children at Worcester Academy.
School leadership has begun strategic and master planning processes that will ensure continued excellence, and the core of this plan must focus on incredible learning experiences for our students. Delivering on our school’s mission means delivering on a culture of lifelong learning for our students and the people who shape and support their experience here. Our teachers are committed to lifelong professional learning, because they want to be the best for their students.
We need to be at our best in supporting them. Your robust participation in the Auction & Gala helps our teachers be the best at what they do and ultimately is a gift to our children. On behalf of all involved, thank you for celebrating the essential, joyful connection between excellent teachers and their students. Funds from this Auction will be used for individual, departmental, and group professional learning opportunities that will guarantee continued excellence in teaching and learning at Worcester Academy!
This event did not happen without extraordinary commitment from parent volunteers. First and foremost, I want to thank our amazing Auction Steering Committee—Kelly Battles P '19 & '21, Laurel Hemmer P' 24, Mariah Hunt-Legare P '19, Erin Lundgren P '19 & '20, Kate McShea P '19 & '22, Colleen Morrissey-Levins P '21, Melinda Nies P '21, Heather Randazza P '21, and Libby Ridgley P '19 for their tireless (and at many times Herculean) efforts. Their hard work over the past year will have an immediate and profound impact on the classroom experience of our students.
Thank you to our corporate and individual sponsors as well as to those individuals who donated items. Thank you also to all of our volunteers whose work made the Auction & Gala a thoroughly enjoyable and successful one.
