WA Loses In Last Second

Playing in their last regular season game of the season, the visiting Worcester Academy basketball team dropped a contest to Tabor Academy that would go down to the final seconds.

Close early, sophomore big man Josh Ogundele (London, ENG) knocked down four FTs within the first couple minutes.  Junior guard Jordan McAllister (Newburgh, NY) would score 6 quick poins shortly after.  A late 3-pointer by junior guard Paul Durkee (Shrewsbury, MA) cut the WA deficit to four, and they went into the locker room trailing 27-23.

WA couldn't close Tabor out, and hosts ended up leading by one with under 30 seconds to play.  A 3-pointer by junior guard Manav Randhawa (Ajax, CAN) hit off the back rim, but sophomore forward Judson Martindale (Sudbury, MA) soared to tip the ball in with six seconds remaining.  Out of a timeout, Tabor's Noah Fernandes took the ball the length of the court and laid the ball off the glass with less than two seconds left on the clock.  WA's final shot fell short, and Tabor emerged with the win.

Sophomore point guard Quest Harris (Lowell, MA) lead WA with 11 points, 5 rebounds & 5 assists.  Martindale, Ogundele & Randhawa each scored 9 points, while Durkee chipped in 8.
