Worcester Beats WMA On The Road

Traveling to face league opponent Wilbraham & Monson Academy, Worcester Academy surged ahead late and notched a 4-point win.

A layup by sophomore forward Judson Martindale (Sudbury, MA) got the Hilltopper scoring started.  Sophomore center Josh Ogundele (London, ENG) scored the next 3 baskets inside for WA.  Wilbraham would not go quietly, and the game was tied at 33 heading into the break.

The second half was a back-and-forth affair.  Martindale made tough shots inside, but a timely 3-pointer by junior guard Paul Durkee (Shrewsbury, MA) and three big triples by fellow junior guard Manav Randhawa (Ajax, CAN) put the game out of reach for the hosts.  Randhawa & fellow junior guard Jordan McAllister (Newburgh, NY) combined to score the last 14 points for WA.

McAllister lead the Hilltopper charge with 15 points.  Martindale added 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Randhawa scored 9 points.  Durkee played a great game from outside, collecting 7 rebounds and handing out 8 assists.

WA will be back in action tomorrow (Wednesday, 2/21) at home against league rival Cushing Academy at 3:30pm.
