SKS Beats WA In Ot

Playing in the prestigious National Prep School Invitational at Rhode Island College, Worcester Academy squared off against fellow NEPSAC Class AA member South Kent School.  While leading for most of the game, South Kent emerged victorious in the end.

Off a series of drives from sophomore point guard Quest Harris (Lowell, MA), WA ran out to a 14-2 lead.  They would hold the lead for the entire half, and enter halftime up 41-32.  Junior forward Mitch Doherty (Acton, MA) scored 16 points before halftime, while Harris scored 11.

The Hilltoppers had control for most of the second half.  South Kent turned it on late, however, and had the lead inside a minute to go.  Sophomore forward Judson Martindale (Sudbury, MA) tied the game with a free throw with 35 second left.  The game would go to OT, but South Kent proved to be too much for WA, and came away with a 84-74 win.

Doherty scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.  Harris scored 16 points, grabbed 7 rebounds & dished out 6 assists.  Martindale scored 7 points and handed out a career-high 6 assists.
