Proctor Defeats WA, 85-75
Traveling to face NEPSAC Class AA opponent Proctor Academy, Worcester Academy's comeback attempts fell short, as they ended up on the wrong end of this 85-75 contest.
Junior forward Mitch Doherty (Acton, MA) drilled three straight buckets early to keep WA on top. Proctor would make a run later in the half, and take a 42-31 lead into the locker room.
Despite a 6-0 run to start the half and scoring streaks from sophomore point guard Quest Harris (Lowell, MA) & junior guard Jordan McAllister (Newburgh, NY), WA did not have an answer for Proctor, as the home team cruised late to a 85-75 victory.
Doherty lead WA with 22 points. Harris scored 21, and McAllister netted a season-high 20 points.
Worcester Academy drops to 5-6 overall, and 5-5 in NEPSAC Class AA. They will travel to Cathedral HS in Boston to face New Hampton School this Saturday at 2:30pm as part of the BABC Prep Classic.
