Aliyah Boston ’19 has been named the Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Basketball Player of the Year. The 6’3” sophomore who hails from St. Thomas (Virgin Islands) is the first Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Worcester Academy. The 6’3” sophomore center averaged 23.0 points, 14.7 rebounds, 4.8 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists per game, leading the Hilltoppers to a stellar record of 19-3. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the court distinguishes Aliyah as Massachusetts's best high school girls basketball player.
