Weekly Athletics Update—December 20, 2022

The last week of competition in 2022 was filled with multiple contests (23) as Worcester Academy teams competed at home and across the New England Prep landscape. As students, faculty and coaches looked ahead to a well-deserved respite the challenges of staying focused and in the moment were evident.

  • On Wednesday, both sub-varsity basketball teams scored impressive home wins as the JV girls’ ran past the Eagle Hill School and the 3rds beat Portsmouth Abbey. It was a nice debut for Pat Flynn, now at the helm of the JV girls’ program. Additionally, Varsity swim competed against the Pingree School and came away with two victories. Girls’ won 56-38 and the boys’, 19-8. Olivia Bull ’23, Elise Drake ’27, Grace Qui ’26 and Claire Puffer were all victorious as were Keyan Padgett ’26, Hung Truong ’24 and Miles Gao ’24 on the boys’ side.
