  • Boys’ varsity ice hockey is currently on a 5-game win streak and is moving towards the top of the Holt Conference. Wednesday’s home contest against Portsmouth Abbey School will go a long way towards determining the #1 seed for the upcoming Holt Tournament.
  • Pingree Game: Connor Dozois ’24 scored 2 goals; George Profitt ’24 and Matt Milotte ’24 each tallied one goal and Jesse Pelletier ’22 had 27 saves. 
  • Berwick School: Mike Locke ’22 scored his 1st career hat trick at WA to propel the visiting Hilltoppers in Dover, NH
  • Vermont Academy: The host Hilltoppers raced out to a 3-0 lead and cruised to a 6-1 win over Vermont Academy on Sunday afternoon at the WIC. Ben Plotner ’23 stopped 21 shots in net. 

  • Ski team jumped into 2nd place in the overall standings, just a spot behind front runner, Pingree School with a tremendous team performance on Friday afternoon in the SL races. On the boys’ side, Harry Martel ’25 and co-captain, Ed Jiao ’22 continue to lead the way as do Kayzie Salmon ’24 and Mia Harris ’25 on the girls’ side.
     
  • Boys’ Basketball improved to 12-4 overall (8-2 in AA) as it ran its winning streak to three games (7 out of the last 8 in the win column) with solid AA victories during the week.        
  • MacDuffie School: WA placed 4 players in double figures and wore down a feisty MacDuffie School on Wednesday afternoon on Rowe Court.
  • Kimball Union School: Tre Norman ’23 scored 27 points and led the Hilltoppers to a huge comeback road win in New Hampshire on Sunday. The visitors overcame a 17-point deficit and were able to prevail in OT, by a 79-72 score.

  • The WA boys’ swim team saw a ton of improved times by multiple performer’s but fell to cross town St. John’s on Wednesday by a 51-33 count. The Hilltoppers gave a good account, but the depth and size of the Pioneer contingent was too much to overcome in this meeting.
     
  • Girls’ Ice hockey split two games, dropping a 3-1 decision at the Brooks School on Wednesday before turning the tables on the Winchendon School on Sunday with a 2-0 victory. Miranda DeAntunano ’22 was terrific in goal turning away 28 shots on the afternoon. The team hosts St. Mark’s on Wednesday at the WIC at 6:00 p.m.

  • Girls’ Varsity basketball ran away from the Pomfret School on Wednesday in their only contest of the week as three Hilltoppers each poured in 20 points to lead the attack. Marianapolis Prep will host WA on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

  • Varsity 2 basketball returned to action and fell to the Middlesex School Friday evening in Concord, MA. After a fairly competitive initial half the Hilltoppers lost their way in the 2nd stanza despite an 18-point performance from Dylan Cote ’24.

  • JV girls’ basketball eased past the Pomfret School on Wednesday in Connecticut.

  • Robert Perniak tossed in a game high 18 points to lead the 3rds ((4-1 overall on the season) to a 51-28 road victory over Cushing.

  • In the middle of the week our JV ice hockey team dropped a decision to Dexter-Southfield and our Middle School Basketball team fell to the Fenn School in Concord.

It is a busy week ahead with many of our teams scheduled to play and compete on Wednesday, February 2.
