WA Falls In OT to Winchendon
Traveling to face long-standing rival and new league member Winchendon School, Worcester dropped a hotly contested game in overtime.
WA got off to a quick start lead by the backcourt of sophomore Dasonte Bowen (Boston, MA), junior Jhamyl Fricas (Lawrence, MA) & senior Judson Martindale (Sudbury, MA). Worcester took a 42-34 lead into the locker room at the half.
Winchendon came back in the second half to take the lead late, but WA crawled back to tie it and send the game into overtime. In OT, a late basket by Bowen was not enough, and Winchendon held on for the win.
Bowen lead the Hilltoppers in scoring with 17 points. Fricas added 15, while senior Mike Rabinovich (Hopkinton, MA) scored 13. Senior point guard Quest Harris and Martindale scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
