Weekly Athletic Update, 5/27/19

A successful season is in the books and uniforms and equipment – for the most part – have been collected and already we look ahead to the summer, early fall and another year of Athletic competition here at WA. Certainly we want to thank our coaches and staff and congratulate our athletes for their work and accomplishments over the past 9 months. Seniors are busy with graduation projects and underclassmen are preparing for exams as we anxiously point towards graduation ceremonies on June 7.

 

At last Friday’s Spring Athletic Assembly held on Rowe Court we recognized our Spring season captains’ and Most Valuable Players’, saluted our senior athletes and recognized our Year End Award recipients as voted on by the Head coaches.

 

 

The John P. Coughlin Award, given annually to the Outstanding Athletic Manager of the Year

 

                                                     Award Winner: Alice Proctor

 

The Robert J. Delahanty Prize, given annually to the Worcester Academy student displaying the best sportsmanship in athletic competition during the year.

 

                                                     Female Recipient: Gabrielle Arcand

                                                     Male Co-Recipient: Jared Bushnell – Aidan Ormsby

 

The Harold W. Presson Trophy, given annually to the best all-around athlete

 

                                                     Female Recipient: Aliyah Boston

                                                     Male Recipient: Zukudo Igwenagu
