Junior Coco Arcand continues her record breaking season on the track eclipsing her own school record in the 3000m with Saturday’s 1st place finish at Andover. The girls’ team won 4 and lost only to the host school as they continue to gear up for the New England Championships this weekend. On the boys’ side Zukudo Igwenagu ’19 displayed his versatility in the Andover meet (boys’ won 2 team events and lost 3 on the afternoon) winning the triple jump and finishing 2nd in both the 100m and discus events. Chase Orr and Ryan Finn each scored three goals powering the boys’ lacrosse team to a nice 13-8 win at Beaver Country Day School on Friday. It was a busy week for the team as they traveled to both Wilbraham & Monson (11-3 setback) and to the Dexter Southfield School where they dropped a 15-7 decision. The team will travel to Cushing Academy on Wednesday for a 3:30 pm game with the Penguins.

Varsity baseball picked up a key league win over NMH on Thursday and now looks at Wednesday’s road contest with Cushing as the deciding factor in securing the final playoff spot for the Blackburn Tournament. This event will take place at Brown University on Saturday with the top 4 teams vying for the Championship which was captured by the Hilltoppers in 2017.

As the golf team winds down their season we salute long-time legendary coach Bob Thorn as he has announced his retirement at the conclusion of the academic year. This year’s team is loaded with talented underclassmen so the outlook is optimistic! Julian Kates has been the most consistent performer to date!

Varsity girls’ softball broke out the bats for senior day and posted an impressive win over the Pomfret School on Wednesday. The team travels to NMH on Wednesday and concludes the 2018 campaign on Saturday when they participate in the WNEPSGSA tournament.

On the tennis side, both programs head down the stretch with the girls’ hoping for an invitation to the post-season tournament and the boys’ still improving and building for the future with a young, talented corps of underclassmen. We want to offer congratulations to former boys’ tennis coach, Mr. Chuck Glassmire who will be inducted into the Kingswood-Oxford Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 9th.

A special thanks to outgoing crew coach, Mr. David Baker for the great work he has done with our Crew Program over the last several years. His organization and oversight of program needs and direction will be sorely missed as the Crew program looks for continued growth and stability moving forward. The team travels to the Medford Mayor’s Cup on Saturday and concludes their season with a home race on the 23rd.
