International Students

International students just like you have been warmly welcomed here at Worcester Academy for over 175 years. We embrace and seek out the rich diversity of thought, experience, and voice that you bring to our community. While we’re learning about you, you’ll be improving your written and oral English skills, immersing yourself in an American way of life, and making friends that will last a lifetime. When you graduate, we’ll see to it that you have the opportunity to enroll in a competitive American college or university. This year, students from 18 countries outside of the United States are here with us, learning and growing, and comprising nearly 20% of our student body. Countries typically represented in our student body are: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Scotland, Somaliland, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

  • Residential Life for International Boarders

Our beautiful campus has four residential dormitories – two for boys and two for girls – with two students living in each room. Each dormitory has a common gathering space, bathrooms, and a kitchen. Residential faculty members and student leaders live with you in these dormitories and are always available to you. They’ll help you in everyday living situations and support you in understanding our core community values.

Academic evenings (Sunday through Thursday) always include two hours of quiet, supervised study time in the dormitory. You may also opt to study in the library where faculty members are always available for help.

You’ll be part of a small "dorm family" led by one of our residential faculty members. "Dorm family" members get to know each other well and meet weekly to share dinner, discuss current events, and plan social outings.
  • International Programs and Services

Our International Student Advisor is with you every step of the way, helping you make a smooth transition into the Worcester Academy community. The advisor provides assistance with academics, immigration, student visas, and travel arrangements.

Not enough time to fly home? During some holidays and vacation breaks, our international students are often welcomed into the homes of their fellow students who live locally.
