Director Of Athletics Ed Reilly Honored By Boys And Girls Club Of Worcester

WA Director of Athletics Ed Reilly was an honored guest at the Boys and Girls Club of Worcester's 3rd Annual Sport and Celebrity Nite held at the Hogan Center on the Holy Cross campus.

The evening honors individuals who have excelled in the athletic industry, while acting as exceptional role models for the youth in the Greater Worcester community.  In light of the Club's Core Belief in "the transformational power of ongoing relationships with caring adults," Ed was an ideal candidate.

Ed Reilly has been WA's Athletic Director for 10 years. He came to the Academy after a lengthy career as a basketball coach, which included stints at Princeton University, Brown University, Bryant University, and at his alma mater, the College of the Holy Cross.

In addition to his work on the basketball court and in the AD's office, Ed has over 20 years experience as a camp director.  Ed continues to serve as the director of Worcester Academy's Summer Sports Camp.

Other honorees at the Sport and Celebrity Nite included former Holy Cross basketball coach and member of the Holy Cross 1954 national championship team, Togo Palazzi; former principal of the Sullivan Middle School, Robert Jennings; Ed Hippert who has coached 63 varsity seasons at several schools in Greater Worcester; and the 2013 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year and first female Principal of Worcester Technical High School, Sheila Harrity.
