STUDENT-ATHLETES ANNOUNCE INTENT
Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Five Worcester Academy student-athletes have announced that they will attend colleges and universities with Division 1 and Division 2 NCAA football programs next fall.

Four of the Worcester seniors signed what are known as "national letters of intent," and will receive full athletics grant-in-aid scholarships from their respective colleges. Grant-in-aid scholarships are given in recognition of athletic ability and performance.

One other academy student also announced his intent, which is to attend Columbia University as a kicker.  Columbia, while having a Division 1 NCAA athletic program, does not offer athletics grant-in-aid scholarships.

The Worcester Academy student-athletes who announced their intent are as follows:

Charles Argast of Mount Kisco, NY (Bryant University); Luke Eddy of Shirley, MA (Columbia); JW Forte Everett, MA (Southern Connecticut State University); Derek Gibson of Bloomfield, NJ (University of Rhode Island); and Tevin Padilla of Bloomfield NJ (Southern Connecticut State University).
