Founded in 1834, Worcester Academy is a co-ed day and boarding school for grades 6-12 and postgraduates (boarding available to Upper School students only). In addition to our popular Seven-Day Boarding Program, we offer a special Five-Day Boarding Program, allowing students from throughout New England to enjoy the experience of living on campus while retaining valuable family time on the weekends.
In the classroom, students are challenged by accomplished faculty and a classic college-preparatory curriculum that is supplemented with the most advanced educational technology. We also believe that there are many important life-lessons to be learned outside of the classroom, inherent in our diverse visual and performing arts program, competitive athletics and community service requirement. This real-world approach to education not only prepares students for college, it provides them with the conviction to Achieve the Honorable.
Our campus is a picturesque blend of 19th-century architecture with modern additions and renovations. Along with the main Union Hill campus, the Academy maintains the Gaskill Field complex located a few blocks from the school, as well as the newly developed New Balance Fields. What's more, our location in the heart of Worcester affords students many wonderful cultural opportunities from the renowned Worcester Art Museum to the EcoTarium, Mechanics Hall and much more.
